Almost Four Decades in Geelong And Growing

07 10 2016

October 7, 2016 – Burson Auto Parts has extended its reach to the automotive repair trade of Geelong and its surrounding areas with opening of a new store located at 400 Thompson Road, North Geelong.

The city of Geelong has played a special part in the history of this Australian company, with the city’s iconic Mercer Street being the location of one of the first Burson Auto Parts stores to open, established some 40 years ago. That first store was located across the road from the current Mercer Street Burson Auto Parts store which has been a Geelong institution for more than 37 years.

Burson Auto Parts Geelong store manager, Stephen Gough, has overseen practically all of this almost four decade commitment to the automotive trade of Geelong during his outstanding 35 year career. His tenure with the company also makes him one of the longest serving Burson Auto Parts store managers in the country.

Gough has overseen the establishment of this second Geelong Burson Auto Parts store to best service their trade customers across the North Geelong area, which is well known for its large concentration of automotive repair businesses.

“Even though we have a very large and highly efficient store in central Geelong, we knew that we could provide even better service to the automotive trade in this area with a new store located in the north of the city. This also expands our already solid footprint in Geelong, while also providing even more inventory, faster delivery times and more of the highly experienced and personalised service that Burson Auto Parts is famous for,” Mr Gough said.

The new Burson Auto Parts North Geelong store is also well known to the trade in the area as for twenty five years prior it was the location of QAH Auto Spares. Opened as Burson Auto Parts North Geelong earlier this year, a highly successful trade night was held on September 14. Approximately 100 Burson Auto Parts trade customers attended this event which was also supported by 35 suppliers. Along with several door prizes handed out on the evening, the major prize of the event was the keys to a new Nissan Micra. The car was won by long term Burson Auto Parts trade customer, Peter Murphy of Peter Murphy Automotive Repairs in North Geelong.

“The Geelong trade night was an outstanding success and it was our way of saying thank you to our many long term trade customers located throughout the area. Over our close to four decade history in Geelong we have established many valued long term relationships with our trade customers and this will grow and continue with our second Geelong store.

“Along with these enduring Geelong trade customer relationships, we also have several local staff members from delivery drivers all the way through to management who have been with the company for more than 20 years,” Mr Gough added.

Burson Auto Parts North Geelong is managed by the highly experienced Ray Jefferies who along with his enthusiastic and highly experienced team welcomes your visit to 400 Thompson Road, North Geelong (T: 52 77 8600) for all of your parts, tools and workshop equipment requirements.
