May 25, 2016 – It is heading towards 12 months since Burson Auto Parts opened its state of the art Queensland distribution centre in the Brisbane suburb of Hemmant.  The major trade customer benefits and business efficiencies that have been achieved since its introduction have been truly outstanding.

The introduction of this new 8,000 square metre distribution centre has transformed how Burson Auto Parts services the company’s trade customers not only throughout the entire state of Queensland, but also for its automotive trade customers located in northern New South Wales.

Drastically reducing the timeframe between ordering and receiving parts for trade customers across these regions, the new Burson Auto Parts distribution centre has provided an immediate and rapid transformation in parts delivery times. Now, Burson Auto Parts Stores located in Queensland and Northern NSW, are restocked within two days, compared to the previous six or seven depending on the supplier or the specific automotive components required.

According to Burson Auto Parts Queensland North Regional Manager, Steve MacArthur, the change has transformed the way the company operates across the region and its surrounds.

“The efficiencies of our new distribution centre are many. Firstly and most importantly, our stores are being re-stocked every two days so we are able to service our valued trade customers even better. In the past a great deal of their time was spent chasing suppliers and freight companies to ensure that customer orders were fulfilled, now we simply supply the order and get on with the next one. The ever replenished stock levels, combined with the detailed organisation and efficiency of our distribution centre logistics, have resulted in major benefits for our trade customers across the region,” Steve said.

“Our trade customer feedback from the store network across Queensland and northern New South Wales relating to the significant improvements that we have achieved since bringing the new distribution centre on line has been overwhelmingly positive,” Steve added.

The Burson Auto Parts distribution centre in Brisbane also includes a meeting and training centre facility for Queensland and surrounding region Burson Auto Parts managers and sales representatives.

The Burson Auto Parts Queensland distribution centre is the second national distribution centre for the country’s preferred automotive trade parts, tools and equipment supplier.
