Burson Auto Parts supports the development of Australia’s future motor racing champions

17 07 2015

Burson Auto Parts, together with CAMS, has developed a number of awards that have been designed to recognise the outstanding efforts achieved by motor racing competitors from the grass-roots levels of the sport, through to the more prominent junior categories.

The Burson Auto Parts Future Star Award will be awarded to a junior motor racing competitor under the age of 21 who has gained outstanding results competing in any motorsport discipline or CAMS national championship. One winner for each state will be chosen and presented with the award during each CAMS State Awards event by Burson Auto Parts.

One of the state winners will be selected to win the National Burson Auto Parts Future Star Award, which will be presented at the CAMS National Awards event by Burson Auto Parts.

This award cannot be won by a previous recipient, ensuring that its presentation ensures the annual unearthing and recognition of new and exciting junior Australian motor racing talent.

Along with the Burson Auto Parts Future Star Award, Burson Auto Parts has also become a part of Australian motor racing history with the establishment of an entirely new award in an entirely new Australian and international motor racing category, Formula 4.

The Burson Rookies Medal will be presented at each Formula 4 round of the 2015 season, (which started in July) to the highest performing driver aged under 18 years. As long as the driver is under 18 years of age as of the opening round of the season and has not competed in more than three national series or championship circuit racing events in their racing career, they are eligible to win the Burson Rookies Medal at each event.

This CAMS sponsorship will also see Burson Auto Parts involved in CAMS drive days, along with a range of junior driver development events and programs. Burson Auto Parts will also be part of the establishment of new events geared around developing young motor racing talent and promoting new junior male and female competitors to become involved.

All national CAMS members will also be entitled to discounts for parts, tools and equipment purchases from more than 130 Burson Auto Parts stores nationwide as a part of this CAMS sponsorship. Regular communications between Burson Auto Parts and the CAMS member base will also enable such things as exclusive CAMS member offers in the future.

According to Burson Auto Parts’ General Manager of Sales and Marketing, Damien Hill, this CAMS sponsorship supports grass roots motorsport, providing an important contribution towards unearthing and supporting Australia’s future motor racing champions.

“We are excited to partner with CAMS to support Australian motor sport at its most junior and developmental levels. We think it is a great fit with our company and look forward to working with CAMS into the future,” Hill said.

“Burson Auto Parts continues to grow and develop as an organisation and working with CAMS will open a number of opportunities to engage with our customers, many of whom are motor sport participants and CAMS Members. As a proud Australian business we are excited to be actively supporting the future of motor sport in this country through this sponsorship,” He added.

CAMS Chief Executive Officer Eugene Arocca was proud to announce this new partnership with Burson Auto Parts.

“This is great news for our 512 affiliated clubs and tens of thousands of members who take part in motor sport at the grass roots level each weekend. This partnership with Burson Auto Parts will underpin our efforts to grow participation by supporting our clubs to develop and grow.”
