Seek out a rewarding career with Burson Auto Parts

07 07 2014

Burson Auto Parts prides itself on the long term careers that have been established by the Australian company’s highly motivated management and staff over the past 40 years.

The company has strived to become an employer of choice in the automotive aftermarket industry by supporting its staff and viewing their employment at Burson Auto Parts from a long term career perspective. Opportunities to progress are actively encouraged for team members from the shop floor or in delivery cars all the way to senior levels of management.

A shining example of how a job can become a successful long term career at Burson Auto Parts can be found with the company’s Pakenham store manager, 29 year old Tim Vriend.

Tim joined Burson Auto Parts after completing his Parts Interpreter apprenticeship in 2006 as a trade salesperson at the Carrum Downs store in Victoria. Starting at the coal face of the Burson Auto Parts operation, Tim gained valuable experience in dealing with trade customers both on the shop floor and on the road, filling in for parts deliveries and sales representing tasks along with stock control and inventory requirements whenever required. This provided a solid rounding of experience relating to all of the roles that are imperative to the successful operation of any Burson Auto Parts store.

The following year, Tim was promoted to the Assistant Manager role for the Burson Auto Parts’ Mornington store in Victoria. Tim joined the Burson Auto Parts Frankston store team 18 months later, once again as Assistant Manager. Training support was provided by Burson Auto Parts as Tim’s career continued to progress with such things as sales, management and leadership training courses all the way through to the company supporting him to gain his Diploma of Management in 2010.

Tim then joined the Burson Auto Parts Moorabbin team as Assistant Manager, overseeing a staff of 14 to address a number of issues that transformed the store to become one of the top ten performing Burson Auto Parts stores in the country.

In December 2013, Tim’s hard work and dedication was rewarded with him being handed the keys of the first all new Burson Auto Parts store in Victoria for more than a decade, as Store Manager of Burson Auto Parts Pakenham.

Tim couldn’t be happier about his career progression with Burson Auto Parts. “Opportunities have been presented to me at every step of my career with Burson Auto Parts. The company has also supported me to develop my skills ever since I joined the team just seven years ago. Being able to have close relationships with the same management personnel who first employed me through to now has also been very important,” Tim said.

Given the company’s current exciting rate of growth, Burson Auto Parts offers careers across all levels of the business, with excellent long term career prospects across the nation.

According to Burson Auto Parts CEO, Darryl Abotomey, “While Burson Auto Parts is a large and growing public company, the supportive culture that established and made this company a major success is still very much a part of our DNA. We are a company with a very clear and focussed direction to be the automotive trade’s number one choice for the most trusted brands and quality service. To achieve this goal on a national basis, we need motivated people who are seeking a long term career with security in an exciting sector of the automotive industry that will continue to grow well into the future,” Mr Abotomey added.
