WA Aftermarket Friendly Society Pitches in For Charity

29 07 2016

July 29, 2016  – A number of Western Australian based and national automotive aftermarket companies together with Burson Auto Parts have taken the initiative to assist two locally based charity organisations, Taoist Tai Chi and the Swan City Youth Services Drop In Centre.

In an initiative which has seen an unique bi-partisan co-operation from companies who have formed a group they call the WA Aftermarket Friendly Society, several suppliers were joined by Burson Auto Parts and automotive aftermarket trade re-sellers to pitch in and assist.

The group organised an event that re-acquainted many old friends from the local aftermarket industry that was held on on July 15 at the Woodbridge Tavern in Perth. The event raised a total of $1,225 through prize raffles and donations collected by Burson Auto Parts Perth store staff leading to the event.

Aftermarket suppliers and re-sellers who provided products as raffle prizes included Century Batteries, Cov’s and the Capricorn Society.

All participants were asked to bring along tinned foods and toiletries to be donated to the Swan City Youth Services Drop In Centre. By the end of the event, two vehicles were required to transport the many much needed items that had been donated to the centre.

According to organiser Mike Collins, “It is great to see local automotive aftermarket companies and their suppliers contribute to such worthy causes while also enjoying a social event together. This was our second event of this kind and we are looking forward to contributing more to our community through larger future charity events like this.”
