Backing Cancer Rally This Spring Season

October 15th, 2024

Lending a helping hand to the local community will always continue to be at the core of Burson Auto Parts. That’s why we are honoured to continue backing local teams in this Spring’s upcoming cancer rally.

All funds raised go directly to Cancer Council Australia, a charity that conducts research, prevention and support for Australians battling cancer.

The Burson Ravenhall and Delacombe stores stepped in to sponsor teams For Me Is Okay and Team W.B. respectively. Driving cars worth just $1,500 from Bendigo, Victoria to Townsville, Queensland, these teams will have to traverse some of the toughest roads Australia has to offer.

For Me Is Okay

Blazing the way in their Holden Sedan, brothers Michael and Cameron Ferguson have a personal stake in the battle against cancer.

“Together, we have felt the effects of cancer through our friends and grandparents. When we found out about the rally, we thought there couldn’t be a better way to raise funds, generate awareness and make a difference.”

Vehicles endure some tough Australian road conditions, and this is where Burson Delacombe came in to save the day. Store Manager Reg Billman and team provided much needed parts and tools to ensure the Holden reaches the finish line.

“We love sponsoring local participants any way we can,” said Reg, “Being roadworthy is essential for these rallies.”

Team W.B.

The team at Burson Ravenhall share the same thought, having assisted with supplying completely new brake components for James Camilleri and Chris Portelli’s Ford Falcon.

“We are also getting a selection of various spare parts together that they will take on the trip in case of any issues,” said Ravenhall Store Manager David Sizeland.

We wish both teams all the best as they begin the first leg of their journey on October 18th. Special thanks to Burson Auto Parts Delacombe and Ravenhall stores for sponsoring and supplying essential parts and tools to these teams.
